Messaging for Guests

No, the message system is for checking the host's availability and for seeking additional information only. Once the hosts replies and let's you know they are available, then you can proceed to making a booking with them.
Your contact information won't be shared with the host and vice versa through the messaging system to ensure the security of our guests and hosts. Your contact information will be shared with the host after you complete a booking.

If you have made a booking request
Most hosts reply to the booking request quickly. If a host hasn't responded to your booking request in 36 hours, the booking request will be closed automatically.
Feel free to reach out to other hosts in the area.
If you have a booking confirmation
If you're having difficulty reaching your host via our messaging system, try to email or phone them. Sometimes, you may be in different time zones or the host may not have Internet access at the moment.
If you're having issues contacting your host directly, you can contact at support@housemystudent.com and we'll contact your host to investigate.

The messaging system securely exchanges information without email addresses or any other contact details.
For your security, we ask you not to include your contact details in the reply. If a host asks you for your private contact details or to make a private arrangement, please let them know that your contact details will be provided to them when a confirmed booking is in place.
Prioritising your security, we only share host/guest contact details (phone number, email, address etc.) once the booking is confirmed and the guest has paid their booking fee and provided their credit card details to us.
Bookings arranged or confirmed privately, outside of our secure messaging system, are not supported by us. We ask that you please adhere to the terms of booking with us and ensure that your messages are sent through the Housemystudent.com messaging system.
Any contact details sent through the messaging system will be automatically deleted before the host receives the message.

On each host's profile page, there is a green 'Contact Host' button under their photo. Enter your dates, number of guests, a short message and click on 'Send Message'.
Your message will be sent directly to the host through our secure messaging system, your email address will not be revealed to the host.

Messaging for Hosts

You should advise the guest to complete their booking on Housemystudent.com so that they can pay their booking fee safely through our secure and verified payment platform. It also guarantees the support of your local partner and the housemystudent.com team should you need it.
For your security, don't include your contact details in your reply.

You should respond within 36 hours or the request will be closed automatically. However, it's in your best interest to reply to the message sooner if possible.
The message is from a guest who's interested in staying with you. They need to check if you are available for their dates of travel and maybe ask some specific questions before booking.
The sooner you reply, the greater the chance you'll get a booking.

If you have your mobile phone verified in your profile, you'll receive a notification by SMS showing that you have a request or message. To check the request please access your account click on this link www.housemystudent.com or check your email box that you had registered in your housemystudent.com account.
You can review the requested dates and exchange messages about your availability with the guest by clicking on the links in the emails or logging directly into your account. Once you are happy to accommodate the guest, just click 'Yes, I'm Available' and the guest can complete the booking online through housemystudent.com. You will receive confirmation of this once they have booked. You should reply to messages and confirm you're available as quickly as possible to ensure the guest can then secure their booking in your housemystudent.
